Anapanasati Meditation
आनापानसतिWatching the natural breath exactly as it is — the classic doorway into meditation, and the first practice every student learns.
The Inner Practice
Meditation is not one technique but a family of them — each a different door into the same stillness. Arjuna teaches nine classical practices, in person in Kathmandu and online, meeting every student at the door that opens for them.
Why sit
Some minds settle through the breath, some through the body's energy, some through the senses. That is why the tradition preserved many meditations, not one. Arjuna begins every student with Anapanasati — simple awareness of the breath — and opens the deeper practices as the sitting matures.
Every practice is taught step by step, for every level — no experience needed, no belief required.
“People come to Nepal for the mountains. They stay for what they find when they finally sit still.”
The Stillness
All meditation sessions are held in person in Kathmandu & online
Watching the natural breath exactly as it is — the classic doorway into meditation, and the first practice every student learns.
Calm-abiding: resting the attention on a single object until the mind grows still, clear and unshakeably steady.
Insight practice — observing sensations and thoughts as they arise and pass, and seeing the nature of the mind directly.
Moving awareness through the seven energy centers, awakening and balancing each in turn from root to crown.
Working with the dormant energy at the base of the spine — approached gradually and safely, under Arjuna's direct guidance.
Meditation on the five great elements — earth, water, fire, air and space — as they live and move within your own body.
Turning the attention into the subtle channels through which prana flows — refining the inner landscape that pranayama first reveals.
Awareness of the five vital airs — prana, apana, samana, udana and vyana — and their currents within the body.
Withdrawing and refining the senses — learning to rest behind seeing and hearing rather than being pulled along by them.
